…what about – the vlog about contemporary music containing interviews with the internationally renowned composers and the young highlights of the industry.

Christiaan Richter | Droplets (whole cycle) | 2014-2015/2017 | 32′

Solo percussion set-up

The interview with composer Christiaan Richter was recorded on the 27th of May 2020 at the time of the international lockdown caused by Covid-19. This was the day of the music video and single recording of Richter’s masterpiece “Droplets II” in the big hall of The Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam. This recording was inspired by the “Guard the Mother Earth” ritual script which was written by Konstantyn Napolov inspired by the Pandemic Covid-19 events.

The cycle “Droplets” was written in 2017 for percussionist Konstantyn Napolov as a part of the Dutch Golden Collection and premiered in its totality on the 7th of September 2017 at the TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht during the Gaudeamus music week festival.

This recording became possible with the generous help and cooperation from The Royal Concertgebouw and the support of the M.A.O.C. Gravin van Bylandt Stichting.

Score available at Christiaan Richter’s website.
